Health Initiatives for the Private Sector (HIPS), a USAID-funded project, works with the Ugandan business community to find cost-effective ways to ensure access to vital health services for company employees, their dependants and the surrounding community members.
The HIPS Project partners with companies to design and implement comprehensive health workplace programs in the area of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB),Malaria, Reproductive Health and Family Planning(RH/FP).
HIPS is partnering with over 100 Ugandan private companies to ensure access to vital health services for company employees, their dependants and the surrounding community members.
HIPS sponsors trainings for company clinical staff and private health practitioners to build their capacity in providing quality AIDS treatment and VCT services. Trainings vary from administering ARVS in Resource Limited settings, providing palliative care, Voluntary Counselling & Testing skills, TB diagnosis and treatment, Pediatrics HIV/AIDS training, to ART logistics and Inventory Management trainings.
